ABOUT MY PRACTICE

WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE
I have been working as a qualified clinical psychologist in London, UK since 1993. I am employed by the National Health Service in two London hospitals as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, providing outpatient services to adults with a wide range of emotional problems. In addition to my NHS duties I run a private practice 'The Counselling Concern', with consulting rooms located in Central London, South West London and Surrey.

THEORETICAL ORIENTATION
I am trained in a variety of psychological models but my preferred way of working is within a cognitive- behavioural framework, using clinical hypnotherapy where appropriate to facilitate new learning.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE INITIAL PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
An initial psychological assessment involves talking to your therapist in a supportive and confidential environment about your problems. It is an opportunity to enable your therapist to make a detailed assessment of your difficulties. Without a thorough assessment it is impossible to decide upon the best course of therapeutic action for you.
